Chamber announces staff departure
John Seymour, president and CEO of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, announced today that Amelia Denslow, director of administration and events, will step down from her position effective Feb. 14 to take a position at the Cook Museum of Natural Science in Decatur.
In her role, Denslow is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of the Chamber. “Amelia brought her tremendous gifts of organization, and project and event management experience to this group, and the work she’s done here will remain a vital part of our operations,” said Seymour. “Her dedication to this Chamber has helped us continue the work our members have asked us to do, and her insight especially during our capital campaign provided our investors with unmatched customer service. The Cook Museum is getting a great team member in Amelia.”
Denslow joined the Chamber in 2014, having previously worked as executive assistant for a defense contractor in Huntsville, Ala. Prior to her time in Huntsville, she served in similar roles in the healthcare and engineering fields in her home state of Michigan.
The Chamber is currently reviewing candidates to fill Denslow’s position once she departs. In the interim period, the Chamber staff will continue her responsibilities while the search process unfolds.
