Chamber president announces staff promotion
Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO John Seymour announced today the promotion of Crystal Brown to vice president of business and investor development. Brown is currently serving as director of business development and public policy.
Seymour made the announcement, saying “the chamber business is just like any other business where relationships are vital to success. In her new role, Crystal will use her gifts in relationship building and communications to serve as a direct liaison with our investors, keeping them connected to the work of the Chamber and how their investment is impacting our region.
“Business development and public policy go together well, so this new role is a natural fit for the needs of our members. And as a past chairwoman of the Chamber, she understands better than most what our members and investors are interested in knowing,” he said.
Brown joined the Chamber staff in February 2012. Prior to her work at the Chamber, she was a long-time volunteer, board member, and executive committee member. Brown was elected Chairwoman of the Board and served the 2003-2004 term.
She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She and her husband, Murphy, have three daughters, a granddaughter and live in Decatur.
