Chamber Hosts Annual State of Healthcare Forum: A Focus on Innovation and Community Care

The Chamber hosted its annual State of Healthcare Forum on August 29 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront, bringing together key voices from our local healthcare system. This event provided a platform for healthcare leaders to share insights, updates and advancements that highlight Decatur Morgan Hospital’s commitment to serving our community.

Moderator Kelli Powers, President of Decatur Morgan Hospital shared exciting updates on the new staff, services and cutting-edge technology, including the delivery of 60 babies just last month. From the new state-of-the-art vascular surgery operating room to advanced cancer treatments and guidance for aspiring healthcare professionals, the panelists covered a wide range of topics.

The expert panel included:

  • Dr. Tyler Goldbach (Emergency Medicine)
  • Dr. Graeme McFarland (Vascular Surgery)
  • Dr. Rishi Patel (Hematology/Oncology)
  • Dr. Allison Warren (OBGYN)

We were also thrilled to have nearly 90 healthcare students from Decatur City, Morgan County, and Hartselle City Schools join us, thanks to the Chamber’s One Vision Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting community initiatives. After the event, students had the opportunity to connect with the panelists and members of the business community.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor Decatur Morgan Hospital and our gold sponsors Alabama Credit Union, Decatur Orthopaedics & Sports and Hartselle Health Park.
