October SuperStar Teacher: Celebrating Amy Hill at Decatur Heritage Christian Academy
With over 25 years of experience, Ms. Hill has been teaching at DHCA for six years. In his nomination, DHCA Head of School Steve Hall praised Ms. Hill for making an impact in the lives of her students. It reads in part, “Mrs. Hill’s classroom is a reflection of her own heart to offer much more than simply Language Arts instruction. She is actively involved in the lives of her students in preparing them for the social, emotional, even spiritual, realities of the years ahead. Whether pursuing a career or post-high school education, Mrs. Hill creates time, both personally and in group settings, to provide guidance and support for what lies ahead. It is support that students regularly come back to via text or email, especially during their first years away from high school.”
The Chamber’s SuperStar Teacher program, launched in January, celebrates educators who make a significant impact on their students, colleagues and communities. In August, the Chamber announced that for the 2024-2025 school year, the One Vision Foundation will award a $1,000 grant to the school of each SuperStar Teacher of the Month. This initiative is part of the Chamber's ongoing commitment to recognizing and supporting outstanding educators in Decatur-Morgan County.
The One Vision Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funds these grants through the generous support of our Chamber members. Members can contribute through their invoices, or a tax-deductible donation can be made by visiting our website, www.dcc.org.
