Developing Talent at the 2024 Workforce NOW Summit

We appreciate everyone who joined us this morning for the 2024 Workforce NOW Summit at Calhoun Community College on November 15.

Keynote speaker, Michael Bridier, Project Manager of the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship for Region 1, explained how to develop and prepare your workforce using apprenticeships. Michael works with organizations across 13 northern Alabama counties to promote work-based learning. Drawing on his expertise with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), he highlighted financial incentives available to employers and shared strategies for creating pathways that deliver affordable, challenging technical skills training tailored to the needs of Alabama’s evolving workforce.

During the presentation, Michael explained how a registered apprenticeship can help recruit, train and retain employees and how to develop a registered apprenticeship specific to your workforce needs.

The event also featured breakout sessions on modern manufacturing led by Billy Troutman of North AlabamaWorks and the impact of childcare in the workforce, presented by Tony Dillon of TOOTRiS.
