Parker Real Estate Named Finalist for 2024 Alabama Small Business of the Year Awards
On November 19, Parker Real Estate was honored as a finalist in the 2024 Alabama Small Business of the Year Awards (11–50 Employees category) at the BCA/CCAA Partnership Annual Meeting in Birmingham. Presented by the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA) and the Business Council of Alabama (BCA), the awards celebrate the best in Alabama small businesses, with 40 finalists competing in four categories.
Jeff Parker, founder and CEO of Parker Real Estate, has guided the Decatur-based firm since its establishment in 2005. A Decatur native and Austin High School graduate, Jeff began his entrepreneurial journey in automotive collision repair alongside his father before transitioning to real estate brokerage and development.
Over nearly two decades, Parker Real Estate has thrived, outgrowing three office locations before settling on Moulton Street in historic downtown Decatur. Originally focused on commercial real estate, the firm expanded to include residential services in 2010. Known for its close-knit team culture, Parker Real Estate values authentic relationships and invests in the personal and professional growth of its agents and staff.
Jeff is deeply involved in the community and has served on the boards of Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, The Enrichment Center and First American Bank in addition to chairing the finance committee at First Baptist Church of Decatur. A former Board Chairman of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce (2015–2016), Jeff now mentors students in the Decatur Morgan CEO program. He and his wife, Cathy, have four children.
Earlier this year, Jeff received the Chamber’s Raymon Baker-John Cook-Ralph Jones Small Business Person of the Year Award. Nominations for the Alabama Small Business of the Year Awards were submitted by local chambers across the state, with finalists evaluated on leadership, community involvement, chamber participation, business success and overall merit.
