We are in the midst of year 12 for the Chamber’s Total Resource Campaign (TRC), and an experience I wouldn't want to miss as a volunteer. It's interesting to look back and see how the program has evolved and its positive impact on local businesses, industries and our community.

TRC is an annual initiative run by Chamber volunteers that sell sponsorships and marketing opportunities to the membership. These opportunities help the Chamber provide a variety of programs including workforce development, leadership, DSC 1043networking opportunities, and business development events. The revenue generated by TRC is approximately one-third of the Chamber’s annual budget. As volunteers, we have an opportunity to reach a broader base through our unique relationships in the community, relationships that Chamber staff may not have. The result is greater involvement of the Chamber's membership, development and growth of marketing and strategic partnerships with its members, and more community awareness about the Chamber because of our volunteer testimonials. It gets easier every year as the community learns more and more the value of the sponsorships and the Chamber, including representation of the community on the state and national level.

It is exciting to be a part of TRC, helping to raise revenue needed to fund the Chamber's programs and events. TRC is a win-win for everyone. It's a financial resource for the Chamber, it frees the Chamber staff from seeking financial support for programs and events throughout the year, allowing them to focus on planning and executing programs. Also, more businesses have opportunities to get involved, volunteers gain recognition personally and for their businesses, and we have fun in the process.

Being involved with TRC is a tangible way to see the impact of the Chamber in our community, and I hope you would consider getting involved.
