Chamber and Calhoun Partner to Offer Hands-On Educational Camps for Students
Another group of students engaged in the three-day Advanced Automotive Academy, where they explored the future of transportation by working directly with electric and hybrid vehicles, receiving an introduction to gas engine systems and even building their own electric motor.
Younger and older students alike also had the chance to dive into the world of cybersecurity through two five-day CyberPatriot Camps, offered at no cost to participants. One session was tailored to 9th–12th graders and the other to 6th–8th graders. Campers explored cybersecurity fundamentals through interactive lessons using Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, multiple numbering systems and operating system configuration.
The Chamber and Calhoun will continue with educational camps in July with the return of SWeETy (Summer Welding, Engineering & Electrical Technology) Camp and a second session of Precision Machining Camp.
