Chamber announcing hiring of new chief financial officer
The Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce today announced the hiring of Denice Marco of Decatur as chief financial officer.
“Her experience, professionalism and community engagement make her a great fit for our organization,” said Chamber President and CEO John Seymour. “She is heavily involved in Boy Scouts of America in support of her family, and is a founding organizer of the Enchanted Forest Project – which in the past two years has attracted more than 4,000 visitors to Decatur and generated huge amounts of revenue for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are fortunate to have her join our team as we serve our members.”
Marco has an associates degree in business administration from Miami-Dade College in Miami, Fla. She is a former small business owner and held accounting and office manager positions with two area private businesses. She currently serves as claims clerk for Chapter 13 Trustee Michele T. Hatcher in Decatur. She also serves as chair and member of several committees at her church, as well as a leader of several area Boy Scouts initiatives.
Marco is replacing Leissa Chittam as CFO – who is retiring in January after 29 years of service – and will join the staff Monday, Dec. 14.
